I want to thank you for visiting MMNA’s (Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America) webpage. MMNA was founded in 1983 by our visionary founders who had the passion to preserve our rich culture and heritage, while the community continued to grow in America. It is easy to lose track of the culture, traditions and values, especially for the younger generation, if these are not preserved, enhanced and made relevant to the modern times, particularly for diaspora. . MMNA helps bridge that gap and also promotes the togetherness and social welfare through its platform of 4,000 individual members in 10 chapters.
Over the years, MMNA has evolved a great framework, structure, bylaws and guidelines for its overall functioning. We all should certainly be proud of our organization that has done so much to build this vibrant, culturally rich & modern community that thrives on its great values.
However, we will not be content to rest on our laurels; we will set our sights even higher. The current times call upon us to articulate and affirm the fundamental values and purposes of social & cultural organizations like ours in the rapidly changing environment of a global and digital world—a world filled with promise for improving human lives, a world in which talent recognizes no boundaries, a world in which creativity and curiosity will fuel the future. Our MMNA Vision 2020 is designed to embrace that future.
MMNA’s ‘Vision 20/20 for the year 2020 provides a roadmap for the next four years for MMNA. We have reiterated MMNA’s commitment to its ongoing initiatives for Women Empowerment (SAKHI), Youth (RAYS), Matrimonial matchmaking and Education support to needy students in the community. In addition, MMNA would also start new efforts to support its Senior Citizens in the community, promote business – entrepreneurship and launch the MMNA digital initiative to enable enhanced fellowship among its members and efficient implementation of its planned initiatives. Importantly, MMNA will significantly enhance its outreach and philanthropic activities in the local communities where its regional chapters are located in North America. International Maheshwari Rajasthani Convention (IMRC) is our flagship event of MMNA in North America. The next IMRC is expected to take place in the second half of 2018.
I feel honored to be appointed as the President of this august organization and am very excited to work with each and every one of you. With my talented, passionate and committed NEC team that is supported by the members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), we all will strive hard to continue to build upon this momentum to take MMNA to the next level. Your continued loyalty, support, and enthusiasm have been the bedrock of our successful journey. I also want to take this opportunity to thank the past NEC team led by Parag Bajaj and BoT team led by Sushma Pallod for their outstanding work. Let’s continue to build an exciting future for MMNA together.
As Helen Keller said, “The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves.”
I am looking forward to an eventful and fruitful journey along with all of you for the brighter future of our community.
Jai Mahesh!
